Located on the north Olympic Peninsula, Clallam County is mostly surrounded by water. The Strait of Juan de Fuca is to the north and separates us from Vancouver Island and the city of Victoria.

 

You have a variety of ways to get here. Drive, fly, or take the ferry if you're coming from Victoria. See below for links, more maps and specific directions.

From Seattle-Tacoma:

  • Take State Route 16 westbound across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge;
  • Continue on SR-16 until reaching State Highway (Hwy) 3 south of Bremerton;
  • Follow Hwy 3 to the Hood Canal Bridge;
  • After crossing the Hood Canal Bridge Hwy 3 turns into Hwy 104;
  • After 16 miles Hwy 104 merges onto Hwy 101;
  • Follow Hwy 101 into Clallam County.

From Olympia:

  • Take Hwy 8 westbound from Olympia;
  • Take Hwy 101 exit towards Shelton;
  • Follow Hwy 101 around the Hood Canal and follow into Clallam County.

From Victoria, British Columbia:

Two privately run ferries transport passengers from Victoria to downtown Port Angeles.

From Seattle via Seattle/Bainbridge Island Ferry:
  • From the Bainbridge Island ferry dock, follow Hwy 305 to Hwy 3 (roughly 13 miles);
  • From Hwy 3 go left onto Hood Canal Bridge;
  • After crossing the Hood Canal Bridge Hwy 3 turns into Hwy 104;
  • After 16 miles Hwy 104 merges onto Hwy 101;
  • Follow Hwy 101 into Clallam County.
From Seattle via Edmonds/Kingston Ferry:
  • From the Kingston ferry dock, take Hwy 3 to the Hood Canal Bridge and take a right;
  • After crossing the Hood Canal Bridge Hwy 3 turns into Hwy 104;
  • After 16 miles Hwy 104 merges onto Hwy 101;
  • Follow Hwy 101 into Clallam County.
From Keystone/Port Townsend Ferry:
  • Take a left out of the Port Townsend ferry dock onto Hwy 20;
  • Follow Hwy 20 to Hwy 101 at Discovery Bay, turn right;
  • Follow Hwy 101 into Clallam County.
