Promote Economic Growth
The Clallam County Economic Development Council (EDC) is a non-profit, private organization created to support and promote policies and activities which contribute to the economic stability and growth of Clallam County.
The EDC serves as a central source of economic development information to both its members and potential clients. It facilitates business and industrial investment to maintain and create jobs and expand businesses.
Business Development
The EDC encourages new business investment to create family wage income jobs and diversify the economy.
The EDC can assist with providing access to:
- Site identification and selection;
- Financing;
- Permit acquisition;
- Labor force development;
- Job training;
- Securing development incentives.
The EDC can also provide intergovernmental coordination for large, complex projects. The EDC can provide the personal service to simplify the process of business development and investment.
Business Counseling
The EDC provides access to individual business counseling to assist new and existing businesses with planning, market development, financial and business management. Counselors have a broad range of management experience and are provided through Washington State University's Small Business Development Center and Small Business Administration's Service CORP of Retired Executives (SCORE). County Demographics and Economic Information
The EDC maintains economic and demographic information to serve business analysis needs. The Clallam County Community Profile is a compilation of economic indicators showing trends in the following areas: population and labor force, business sectors and wages, retail sales, tourism, real estate, taxes and income.
Partnerships
The EDC provides its broad range of services in cooperation with state and local governments, community colleges, Washington State University/Small Business Development Center, Small Business Administration's SCORE program and Washington Manufacturing Services.
The EDC's Board of Directors and membership represent the business sector, as well as local and tribal governments.
